Job Overview:
As a Porter, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the hotel's public areas and back-of-house spaces. Your role is crucial in ensuring that our guests enjoy a pleasant and comfortable stay.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain the cleanliness of the lobby, hallways, restrooms, and other public areas.
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of meeting rooms and event spaces.
- Respond promptly to guest requests and provide exceptional customer service.
- Perform minor maintenance tasks as needed.
- Ensure all entry points are secure and report any suspicious activity.
- Assist with luggage handling and transportation for guests.
- Conduct regular rounds to ensure the safety and security of the premises.
- Support other departments with various tasks as required.
- (This can include laundry tasks, assisting the Front Desk during busy periods / covering breaks, and stripping linens from guest rooms.)
Qualifications:
- Excellent verbal communication skills are necessary to be considered for this position.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Basic maintenance skills are an asset.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods.
- Must be available to work overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays.
